USSHER, John – Government Agent at Kamloops, B.C. – Died December 10, 1879 – Shot dead by a party of four half-breed outlaws named Hector, Allen and Charles McLean, and Alex. Hare – (JRO 79).

USSHER, John, Government Agent at Kamloops – Died December, 1879 in British Columbia – Murdered. Archibald McLean, Chas. McLean, and Allan McLean, three brothers, and Alex. Hare, all half-breeds, were tried and convited, and executed at New Westminster, B.C January 31, 1881 – (JRO 80-81).

VAIL, Edwin Arnold (Hon.) – M.D., a member of the Govt. of New Brunswick – Born August 19, 1817 at Sussex, New Brunswick – Died in August, 1885 at Sussex, New Brunswick – (Obit. 85).

VAIL, Mary Eliza (Mrs.) (née Williams) – Born in Annapolis, Nova Scotia – Died October 19, 1880 in St. John, New Brunswick aged 84 – Relict of John C. Vail, Esq.. She was a daughter of the late Com. Genl. Williams, and a sister of Genl. Sir W. F. Williams of Kars, G.C.B. – (Obit. 80-81).

VALENTINE, George (Mr. and Mrs.) – Died December 29, 1881 – Kingston Road crossing, near Toronto, Ontario – Killed by a Grand Trunk train. A verdict of $6,000 is returned against the Grand Trunk Railay Co. in favour of their heirs on January 11, 1883. – (JRO 83).

VALISE, O. – Passenger – Died September 14, 1882, Georgian Bay, Ontario – Lost in the wreck of the steamer Asia – (JRO 82).

VALLÉE, Martial Henri – Superintendent of the Eastern Section of the Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa and Occidental Railway – Died January, 1879 aged 35 – He was the 3rd son of Mr. J. S. Vallée, N.P., of Montmagny, and a brother of Mr. R. P. Vallée, M. P. for Portneuf. – (Obit. 79).

VALLIER – Died April 18, 1879, near New Liverpool, Quebec – One of four men and two boys drowned by the upsetting of a market boat – (JRO 79).
